K&N Engineering has released a new replacement high-flow air filter for the 2005-2008 Arctic Cat 400/500 4x4 and Prowler 650 H1 models, reported Powersports Division Brand Manager Johnny Jump. “K&N’s OE replacement air filter is engineered specifically to fit into Arctic Cat’s factory air box without any cutting or fitting required,” he explained, adding, “K&N’s unique pleated design offers an increased volume of air flow and greatly increases the available surface area over the stock unit.” This design is said to increase throttle response, add horsepower, torque and longer service intervals and since it is an OE replacement filter, no jetting changes are reportedly necessary to receive optimum performance. “K&N high-flow filters are washable and reusable and come pre-oiled and ready to ride,” Jump concluded. MTA spokesperson Jeff Laird told us the company now offers three new STI tires. First up is the STI-Sand Trax tire, which features an innovative eight paddle ‘V’ tread design that comes with a 25 mm deep paddle for great forward traction and controlled cornering. “Its extremely lightweight flotation carcass rides great and is a perfect choice for mid-size ATVs,” he explained. The new STI-Dirt Trax tire comes with a new lightweight six ply dimpled knob design that offers a comfortable ride and exceptional control over a variety of surfaces, said Laird, who added, “The flexible carcass provides unmatched performance in soft, loose conditions such as sand and snow.” The low profile 21x7-10 and 20x11-9 size combo reportedly offers MX type handling for the trails.
