HARLEY GLOSS BLACK SISSYBAR AND RACK

Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories announced the release of its new gloss black sissybar and luggage rack components, which are said to complete the black-out looks of the new Harley-Davidson Nightster and other Sportster models. The detachable sissybar sideplates and short rail sissybar upright combination is lower than traditional uprights, said spokesperson Jen Gruber. She added, “The hidden backrest pad mounting system provides a sleek look when the pad is removed.” The tapered luggage rack was designed to provide a solution for toting lunch across town or luggage across the country, Gruber explained. All reportedly fit 2004-later XL models. For more information visit www.harley-davidson.com.

D&D NOW SHIPPING FAT BOY & DUECE EXHAUST PIPES

D&D Performance Enterprises reported it is now shipping the 2007 Fat Cat slip-on exhaust pipes for the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Softail and Deuce motorcycles. According to D&D, “Enthusiasts can choose between a slash, even cut or a staggered cut for one of Harley’s most popular models.” The slip-on pipes are said to be manufactured with show chrome and full wrap heat shields to keep all discoloration out of sight. Consumers can also select the black coating option as an alternative to chrome, said D&D, which added, “The entire line of D&D performance exhaust pipes for the Softail family of Harley motorcycles are built with direct fitment that requires no cutting, welding or grinding.” The company concluded by saying that every Harley-Davidson Fat Boy slip-on pipe is torture tested on D&D’s state-of-the-art, in-house Super Flow Eddy Current Ram Air dynamometer. WRECKING CREW RIDERS HEAD BACK TO RACE

After a month long break and with just five races remaining in the AMA Ford Quality Checked Twins season, the Screamin’ Eagle Wrecking Crew riders head back to race knowing that every point counts, stated spokesperson Matt King. “They also know that the championship most likely won’t be claimed until the season finale in Las Vegas on Oct. 6 – the points chase is just too close,” King explained. Harley-Davidson’s factory rider and defending Twins series champion Kenny Coolberth has the points lead; however, he is just two points ahead of his teammate Jared Mees. Coolberth said, “The team has come together so well this season and it seems that we’ve improved on so many levels over the last year. But the competition seems to have gotten better too.” He added, “Jared and his team have been racing so well and we have to make sure and do everything we can to keep pace in the championship chase.” The Screamin’ Eagle Flat Track team is reportedly sponsored by Matco Tools and the remaining AMA GNC Twins events can be seen via Web cast provided by Live I Sports at www.liveisports.com.
