2008 ROCKER SOFTAIL BUILDER FASTENER SET
Gardner-Westcott Company announced the release of its all-new complete builder fastener sets for the 2008 FXCW and FXCWC Rocker
Softails. According to the company, “This builder set will allow users to completely dress up the motor and transmission components with polished stainless steel
Allens.” Gardner-Westcott said its kits include Allen screws, acorn nuts and washers to detail the timing cover, side covers, lifter base, Rocker box, motor case, transmission bracket mount and transmission cover.

S&S TEARDROP AIR CLEANER FOR 2008 BAGGERS
“This air cleaner allows owners of 2008 Harley-Davidson touring models to enjoy the added performance and good looks of our trademarked teardrop air cleaner,” explained S&S Media & Advertising Supervisor Howard Kelly. This new air cleaner bolts directly on the stock EFI throttle body and is designed to provide more airflow for more power, described Kelly. He told us the air cleaner kit will not normally cause any tuning problems because the stock closed-loop fuel injection system can easily accommodate the added fuel requirements.

MONSTER OVAL SLIP-ONS
Vance & Hines explained it has released its new Monster Oval slip-on exhaust, which has twice the internal volume of standard slip-on mufflers. “Monster Ovals provide more horsepower with a stereo friendly, deep, rich tone that’s perfect for those cross country tours,” the company told us. It added these pipes are encased in
blueproof-formed heat shields and include end caps in a choice of chrome or black. “Monster Ovals were designed to include an optional catalyst system which will be available later this year,” noted Vance & Hines.

THE BAKER DD7
“The Baker DD7 (Direct Drive seven speed) has been developed as a direct replacement of the cruise drive Harley-Davidson factory six speed to improve it in many ways besides just adding another gear,” Baker Drivetrain spokesperson Anthony Underwood explained. The DD7 has a shorter 1st gear for improved get-up-and-go, he told us, and “the DD7 is a big improvement over the factory six speed because it incorporates a new linear roller ball detent as part of the supplied billet top cover.” Like other Baker transmissions, the DD7 has a shift drum that is designed to help the rider find neutral every time, added Underwood. “The Baker DD7 has a full set of helical gears for quiet operation in every gear,” he concluded.
